GOLD STANDARDS FRAMEWORK – OUR NEW VIDEO TELLS ALL
The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) is a systematic, evidence-based approach designed to improve quality of care for patients considered to have a life expectancy of less than 12 months. The GSF aims to enable every patient to have a “good death” in the place of their choice, with consistent high-quality care planned around their needs and preferences.
Stephen Teasdale, development director for Camelot Care, said: “We’ve just received this award for the second time – on both occasions with ‘Beacon’ status, which is the highest accolade possible – and Camelot House and Lodge was shortlisted for Care Home Of The Year 2016. All in all, a fantastic achievement.”
“The Care Home Of The Year award is a totally independent endorsement of the quality of care we provide for the people with dementia and mental health problems who live in our homes, and reflects that we are among the best in the UK, so it’s a really meaningful acknowledgement of the person-centred care we deliver.”
Annabel Foulger, spokesperson for the GSF Centre, the UK’s largest provider of training in end-of-life care, said: “As people approach the end of their lives they want to be cared for in familiar surroundings, by people who know and understand their wishes. By engaging all of their residents and their families in detailed conversations about these wishes, allied with a passion for fulfilling them, Camelot House and Lodge provide an exemplar for care homes across the UK.”
All our homes are safe, secure and attractive places, offering the best possible palliative and end-of-life care. Using our Camelot Care ethos we deliver the highest standard of care for our residents. By using the end-of-life register, anticipatory medication, and symptom control, we provide the optimum quality care, and help avoid unnecessary hospitalization during end-of-life care.
