JUST CALL ME SANTA

Residents at a specialist dementia care home in Wellington have been having a great time posing for festive photos at a specially arranged pre-Christmas shoot undertaken by students of photography from Bridgwater & Taunton College.

Richard Dempslake, activities co-ordinator for Camelot House and Lodge, said: “We were thrilled when the College asked if we’d like to collaborate in this project because a lot of our residents take great delight in posing for the cameras, and we thought how great it would be to have professional quality photos for them to keep.

“It’s also been lovely for members of their families and friends who’ve had a lot of fun posing with them and making the most of the Christmassy props that were provided.”

Three students and 25 residents – some with their families – took part in the project, with photo shoots taking place every day for a whole week to ensure the models had plenty of time to enjoy themselves and that the students could get the kind of shots they wanted.

The photo-shoots were part of a packed festive programme of activities organised by Richard and his team for residents of Camelot House and Lodge, which is run by Camelot Care. The Group has further dementia care homes in Bridgwater and Plymouth. See https://www.camelotcare.co.uk/
