RED NOSE ANTICS AT BUTTERFLY LODGE
The auction of an amazing home-made tower made of chocolate brownies raised an impressive £40 towards Red Nose Day as part of celebrations held at Butterfly Lodge.
The auction was part of a fun day of activities organised by the activities team at the specialist care home in St Budeaux, which is run by award-winning dementia care provider Camelot Care.
Catt Platts, who is a healthcare assistant, was responsible for the impressive tower of chocolate brownies, and 10 of her colleagues, as well as friends and family members of residents at Butterfly Lodge contributed a total of 15 other delicious edibles for the home’s bake sale.
Deputy Manager Sarah McCaffrey said: “Residents enjoyed having their nose painted red, as well as playing Red Nose Day wordsearches.
“And a competitive game of ‘Stick the Red Nose on the clown gave us a lot of giggles.
“It was a great day, and we were also pleased to be able to donate to the great causes supported by Red Nose Day.”
The activities are part of a packed and varied programme of events organised for the enjoyment of residents, specially designed to keep them engaged and active.
Butterfly Lodge is one of four dementia care homes in Devon and Somerset run by Camelot Care, with a fifth due to open in Holsworthy later this year.
